BOSTON -- Freshman outside hitter Hannah Serbousek (Fort Collins, Colo.) and junior middle blocker Abby Sullivan (Methuen, Mass.) were named America East All-Conference selections, as voted on by the league's head coaches.
Sullivan, was named to the America East All-Conference First Team, after she earned Second Team honors for the 'Cats back in 2019.Â
She led the Wildcats roster with 73 kills, 2.52 kills per set, a .347 hitting percentage and 25 total blocks in nine matches for UNH. Sullivan ranked third among AE players in hitting percentage, while her 0.86 blocks per set was fifth best in the conference. She recorded 10 or more kills in four of the nine matches and posted five or more blocks in three contests.
"In our shortened season Abby played a critical role to our success," said UNH Head Coach Christopher Feliciano. "She's someone that commanded a lot of attention from opposing teams, which in turn made everyone around her better."
Serbousek, who was named to the America East All-Conference Second Team, was one of four rookies chosen as an All-Conference selection. She also earned America East All-Rookie honors for her efforts in her first season with the Wildcats.
She was third on the team with 60 kills and her .256 hitting percentage was eighth best among AE players. Serbousek notched a career-high 13 kills on three occasions in her rookie season in Durham and hit at a .250 clip or better in six of seven matches for the Wildcats.
"To make an All-Conference team as a freshman is no small feat," commented Feliciano. "As the season progressed Hannah continued to improve. Every day she came in with a specific focus. Our program is fortunate to have Hannah part of it."
The UNHÂ duo guided the Wildcats to a 7-3 America East record, which was tied for second place in the conference standings.
