Anna Metzler finishes 28th in 400 IM preliminaries at NCAA Championships

Metzler finished with a time of 4:13.26 in the 400 IM preliminary event
GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Junior Anna Metzler (Regensburg, Germany) of the University of New Hampshire swim team competed in the preliminaries of the 400 IM, her top event, at the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships on Friday morning at the Greensboro Aquatic Center.
Metzler posted a mark of 4:13.26, which was the third best time in her heat and she placed 28th overall among 43 competitors in her second event of the NCAA Championships. Her time marked the fifth fastest time in school history for the Wildcats.
"It was great to be back at the National Championships. We're proud of Anna and how she did after a short season and many training challenges," said UNH Head Coach Josh Willman. "We are looking forward now to the America East Championships and preparing for next year's."
"It was exciting to be part of this really big meet," said Metzler. "I was proud to represent UNH as a Wildcat and will use my experience for next years NCAA's."
She also swam in the 200 IM preliminaries yesterday, placing 59th with a time of 2:01.00.
The UNH swimming and diving team returns to the pool on Friday, April 2 for a dual meet at Vermont. Meet time from Forbush Natatorium in Burlington, Vt. is 4 p.m.
