GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Junior Anna Metzler (Regensburg, Germany) of the University of New Hampshire swim team competed in the preliminaries of the 200 IM at the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships on Thursday morning at the Greensboro Aquatic Center.
Metzler posted a time of 2:01.00 in heat two, where she finished tied for sixth and placed 59th overall among 69 total swimmers in the event. Her time was the fifth fastest mark in program history.
"Today's swim in Anna's bonus event wasn't her best, but we're going to use the experience to prepare and make adjustments for tomorrow's 400 IM," said UNH Head Coach Josh Willman.
Metzler returns to action at the NCAA Championships on Friday, March 19 in her main event, the 400 IM, which starts at 10am from Greensboro Aquatic Center. The meet will be televised on ESPN3 (Click here to watch).
