Nick Johnson Honored As America East Rookie of the Week

Johnson wins the award for the fourth time this season
BOSTON - Redshirt freshman guard Nick Johnson (Bronx, N.Y.) of the University of New Hampshire men's basketball team was named America East Rookie of the Week announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.
Johnson wins the award for the fourth time this season after earning the award on December 28, January 19 and 25. It's the seventh time this season a Wildcat has won America East Rookie of the Week and it's the fifth consecutive week a UNH player has received the honor.
The 6-foot-4 guard notched 14.0 points per game, 10-for-19 shooting and 4.0 rebounds split against UMass Lowell at Lundholm Gymnasium over the weekend. He scored 13 points in Friday's loss and followed that up with a 15-point effort on 5-of-8 shooting and six rebounds in Saturday's 74-63 victory against the River Hawks.
The Kinesiology: Sport Studies major ranks sixth on the team in scoring with 7.3 points per game and has registered 10 or more points in five contests this season for the Wildcats. Johnson has started nine of 17 games for the Wildcats in his first year in Durham.
The Wildcats (9-8 overall, 8-6 AEC) currently sit in fourth place in the America East standings and return to action at NJIT on Saturday, February 20.
