Maddie is a senior assistant captain on the women's ice hockey team from Gardner, Mass. She has been a major contributor to the Wildcats over her career as she has played in 110 career games. As a junior in 2019-20 she skated in all 37 games and ranked second on the team in blocks with 61. Maddie scored the game-winning goal in a 1-0 overtime win against UConn on January 11 and assisted on two other game-winning goals against Merrimack and Boston College.
Scott is a sophomore member of the nordic ski team from Lake Placid, N.Y. He had an outstanding rookie season as he was the only freshman on the men's team to earn an NCAA Championship berth as he posted the best finish on the team. He was the team's top competitor in nine of 12 individual races, and he posted two top-5 finishes. He ranked 11th overall in the Eastern Intercollegiate Ski Association.

Q&A WITH MADDIE:

When did you start playing hockey?
I started playing hockey when I was five years old. I started off with figure skates and quickly realized that figure skates were not for me.
Did growing up in New England, specifically Massachusetts, influence your feelings toward sports at all?
Living in Massachusetts has made a huge influence on how I feel about sports. Boston is known as Title Town because of the success of the Bruins, Celtics, Red Sox and Patriots. Playing or watching those teams in the small town that I grew up in was something I was always doing.
What made you choose UNH?
I chose UNH because of the friendly atmosphere, the great education and the amazing women's hockey program that was offered.
What do you enjoy most about playing hockey for UNH?
Something I enjoy the most about playing hockey for UNH is the people who take part in the program. The coaching staff, my teammates, the rink staff and everyone else in between make it enjoyable to walk into the rink every day.
Where do you see yourself after graduation?
After graduation I will be attending graduate school at UNH!
