#6 Wildcats Fall to Vermont 1-0 in AE Finals

DURHAM, N.H. – Yves Borie scored the game-winning goal for the Catamounts as the No. 6 nationally-ranked and No 1 seed University of New Hampshire men's soccer team fell to No. 2 seed Vermont,1-0, in the America East Finals on Sunday afternoon at Wildcat Stadium.
The Wildcats are now 16-1-2, while the Catamounts improve to 13-4-2 and earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
Tune into the NCAA Selection Show on Monday at 1 p.m. on NCAA.com to find out who and when the Wildcats will play in the tournament. UNH will be making its fifth straight appearance in the NCAA Tournament.
Junior Bilal Kamal (London, England), graduate student Bridger Hansen (Cottonwood Heights, Utah) and graduate student Johann von Knebel (Hamburg, Germany) were all named to the All-Championship Team.
With a 3.77 GPA, sophomore Luke Madden (Hermosa Beach, Calif.), a double major in Sport Management and Leadership and Spanish, won the America East Elite 18 Award for having the highest cumulative grade point average of anyone competing in today's contest.

- The first half went scoreless as UNH took one shot on goal and Vermont took two.
- Borie netted the game-winner for UVM in the 68th minute (67:08) when he volleyed the ball out of the air and into the upper right corner of the net off of a header from Adrian Solano.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- New Hampshire outshot Vermont, 6-5, while the 'Cats posted two shots on goal and the Catamounts took three.
