Allen Receives NFHCA Scholar of Distinction Recognition

CHANDLER, Ariz. – Conner Allen (Centreville, Md.), a junior on the University of New Hampshire field hockey team, has been named a 2019 Zag Field Hockey/NFHCA Division I Scholar of Distinction.
Student-athletes with a cumulative grade-point-average of 3.9 or higher through the first semester of the 2019-20 academic year earn this accolade. She is one of 167 student-athletes recognized for this achievement.
Allen has received this honor three consecutive years. Her first two years, she received it at the University of Delaware before transferring to UNH for her junior season. In addition to this recognition, Allen – along with six Wildcat teammates – was named to the NFHCA National Academic Squad earlier this month. The National Academic Squad program honors student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher through the first semester of the 2019-20 academic year.
This past season, Allen played in 16 of 18 games with eight starts, including the last five games of the regular season. Off the field, Allen was awarded the program's Gina Bailey Skelley Field Hockey Scholarship Award. This scholarship is awarded to the field hockey player who embodies the impact of leaving a positive legacy on the UNH field hockey program. The student-athlete consistently provides an excellent example of high sportsmanship, a focus on quality academic experiences and has demonstrated outstanding character, engaging in a BIG team, little me attitude.
