Speidel, Toback Named Academic All-District Athletes

DURHAM, N.H. – University of New Hampshire track & field athletes Edward Speidel (Dover, N.H.) and Alexandra Toback (Pompton Plains, N.J.) were both named to the 2018-19 Google Cloud Academic All-District Track & Field / Cross Country teams this past Tuesday.
Speidel, an America East All-Academic team member, recorded a perfect 4.0 GPA in the business administration program, and was named an Elite-18 award winner during the indoor track and field season. Speidel scored in both the indoor and outdoor America East championship meets this season in the weight throw and hammer throw.
Toback, an outdoor track athlete, posted a 3.97 GPA in the Communication Sciences and Disorders program. Toback was a scoring athlete for the Wildcats in the 2019 America East outdoor championship, with a new personal best mark in the javelin throw.
Both athletes made the District 1 First Team roster, which is comprised of student athletes from Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, New York, Rhode Island, and Vermont.
The 2018-19 Google Cloud Academic All-District Men's and Women's Track & Field/Cross Country Teams, selected by CoSIDA, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in the athletic realm and in the classroom. The Google Cloud Academic All-America program separately recognizes outstanding student-athletes in four divisions. First-team Academic All-District honorees advance to the Google Cloud Academic All-America ballot, which is voted on in June.
