Seven 'Cats Named to National Academic Squad

Field Hockey Team Receives National Academic Team Award
GILBERT, Ariz. – A total of seven student-athletes on the University of New Hampshire field hockey team were named to the 2018 ZAG Field Hockey/National Field Hockey Coaches Association Division I National Academic Squad on Monday.
UNH also earned recognition with a Zag Field Hockey/NFHCA Division I National Academic Team Award for achieving a minimum team grade-point average of 3.0 during the first semester of the 2018-19 academic year.
Senior Rachel Bossi (Chelmsford, Mass.) received this accolade for the second consecutive year. Juniors Madelyn McAteer (Annapolis, Md.) and Kayla Sliz (Ajax, Ontario) were feted for the third time in as many years.
Sophomore Erin Malone (Crofton, Va.) made the grade second straight year.
Sophomore Isabelle Danahy (Chelmsford, Mass.), freshman Tori Palumbo (Ayer, Mass.) and senior Kelsey Rudert (North Grafton, Mass.) were first time honorees.
The National Academic Squad recognizes those student-athletes who achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher through the fall 2018 semester.
UNH boasted two NFHCA Northeast Region Second Team, two America East All-Conference Team, one All-Rookie Team and an All-Academic Team honoree in 2018.
