Guadarrama Has Career Night (21p, 16r) in 70-50 Loss to Hartford

Freshman Forward Hits Five 3-Pointers and Pulls Down Five Offensive Rebounds As Part of First Career Double-Double
DURHAM, N.H. – Nick Guadarrama (Newington, Conn.) led both teams and the only double digit scorer for the 'Cats with a career- and game-high 21 points, and led with another career- and game-high 16 rebounds, but the University of Hartford came out with the 70-50 victory against the University of New Hampshire in Lundholm Gymnasium on Thursday night.
Guadarrama made 5 of 6 3-pointers – another career high – and shot 7-for-13 from the floor overall; he was a perfect 2-for-2 at the foul line. The freshman forward pulled down five offensive rebounds as part of his first career double-double. Guadarrama also matched his career high with a game-high three steals.
Jordan Reed (Lucas, Texas) was UNH's next leading scorer with eight points and three rebounds, as well as a team-high three assists.
J.R. Lynch led four Hartford double-digit scorers with 18 points. He was followed by George Blogojevic (13), Travis Weatherington (11) and John Carroll (10). Blagojevic had a team-high 10 rebounds to record a double-double.
UNH is now 3-23 overall and 1-12 in America East. Hartford improved to 14-13 overall and 7-5 in America East.

FIRST HALF
- Hartford was on the board first and secured a 7-0 lead at 16:20, fueled by a layup and a 3-pointer from Jason Dunne, and a Blagojevic layup.
- UNH got its first points on the board on a 3-pointer from Guadarrama at 16:00.
- The Hawks extended their lead to 13-3 at 14:08 after a 6-point run with two layups from Weatherington and another by Blagojevic.
- Josh Hopkins (Greensboro, N.C.) sunk two free throws at 10:31 to shorten Hartford's lead to 19-5.
- Hopkins hit a jumper for UNH to bring the score to 22-7 at 9:58.
- Hartford increased the advantage to 29-7 before Hopkins made a layup at 5:39.
- Guadarrama scored 10 consecutive UNH points on a layup, two 3-pointers and another layup to lift the 'Cats within 35-19 in the closing minute.
SECOND HALF
- Guadarrama continued his hot hand in the second half with a 3-pointer at 19:15.
- Not long after, Chris Lester (Barrington, Ill.) made a layup at 18:25 to make the score 38-24.
- Blagojevic's dunk at 18:02 increased the Hawks' lead to 40-24.
- Guadarrama netted his fifth 3-pointer of the game to cut the lead to 40-27 at 17:52, but UNH got not closer the rest of the game.
- Reed and David Watkins (Dorchester, Mass.) scored their first layups of the game at 13:58 and 12:44, respectively, to advance the score to 46-31.
- Marque Maultsby (Raleigh, N.C.) with his first points of the game, a layup at 12:11 and a jumper at 9:33, moved the score to 51-35.
- Guadarrama hit two free throws at 8:46 to cut the deficit to 54-37.
- Watkins and Reed hit consecutive jumpers – albeit two minutes apart – to pull the Wildcats within 56-41 at 5:51.
- A 9-2 run by Hartford gave the visitors the largest lead of the game, 68-44, at 2:24.
