Maultsby, Guadarrama Score 11 Points Each in 73-44 Loss at UVM

BURLINGTON, Vt. – Nick Guadarrama (Newington, Conn.) and Marque Maultsby (Raleigh, N.C.) scored a team-high 11 points apiece as the University of New Hampshire men's basketball team was defeated 73-44 by the University of Vermont at Patrick Gym on Wednesday night.
Guadarrama also had a team-leading six rebounds and three steals. Maultsby's other stats included four rebounds and team-high three assists.
Vermont was led by Anthony Lamb (20 points, six rebounds).Samuel Dingba, Stef Smith and Ben Shungu had eight points apiece.
UNH is now 3-21 overall and 1-10 in America East. Vermont completed the series sweep of the Wildcats to improve to 20-5, 10-1.

FIRST HALF
* With UNH trailing 5-2, Chris Lester (Barrington, Ill.) made a layup and Guadarrama's 3-pointer from the right corner gave UNH its first lead of the game, 7-5, at 15:15.
* UVM went back in front, 9-7, but Maultsby hit a pull-up 3-pointer in transition to give the Wildcats a 10-9 lead at 12:29.
* Lamb responded with a basket at the other end of the floor and then hit a 3-ball to give the Catamounts a 14-10 lead at 10:54, and the home team led the rest of the way.
* Leading 16-14, UVM went on a 7-0 run to extend the margin to 23-14 at 6:09.
* Maultsby hit a floater in the lane, but the Catamounts responded by pushing the lead to double digits, 27-16, at 4:16.
* The lead then fluctuated between 8 and 10 points until Vermont scored the last four points of the half to take a 38-26 advantage into halftime.
SECOND HALF
* UVM opened the second half on an 8-0 run to push the differential to 20 points, 46-26, at 16:50.
* The lead ballooned to as high as 30 points twice: 66-36 at 6:30 and 67-37 at 4:54.

* New Hampshire has a 49-103 lifetime record against Vermont. The Catamounts have won 11 straight in the series and 20 consecutive matchups at Patrick Gym dating back to UNH's win in January 2000.
