Brian Espanet, a sophomore wide receiver from Hopedale, Mass., scored both UNH touchdowns to lead the Wildcats to a 20-14 victory at 22nd-ranked Stony Brook University on October 12. He was the team leader in both catches (four) and receiving yards (59), and both those numbers marked career highs.
Brian pulled down a 20-yard TD reception with an acrobatic leap at the front-left pylon and the subsequent PAT kick gave UNH a 17-14 lead at 9:32 of the fourth quarter. His 15-yard touchdown catch in the first quarter gave the 'Cats a 7-0 lead.
In six games this season, Brian has 15 receptions for 205 yards and a team-leading four TDs. Those numbers calculate to 34.2 yards per game and 13.7 yards per reception.
