ORONO, Maine. – Junior Liam Blackburn (Prince George, British Columbia) posted a goal and two assists for three points to extend his point streak to 13 games as the University of New Hampshire men's hockey team tied Maine, 4-4, on Monday afternoon at Alfond Arena. With the tie, the Wildcats are now 8-8-7 overall (4-5-4 HEA) and are 6-1-2 over their last nine games. Maine is now 8-11-3 (4-5-3 HEA).
UP NEXT: The Wildcats will conclude their three-game road trip with a contest at the XL Center versus UConn on Friday, Jan. 25 at 7 p.m.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- At 9:57 of the first period, the Black Bears took a 1-0 lead as Brendan Robbins tipped a shot to the lower glove side of the net.
- Maine increased its lead to 2-0 at 16:34 when Chase Pearson secured the puck from behind the net who then sent a backhander to the near side of the goal.
- Maine outshot UNH, 11-5, while each team went 0-1 on the power play.
- While on a two-man advantage power play, Blackburn extended his point streak to 13 games with a goal as he sent a wrist shot to the upper glove side of the net off a pass from sophomore Max Gildon (Plano, Texas) as UNH cut the Maine lead to 2-1.
- UNH outshot Maine by a 13-7 margin, while the Wildcats went 1-2 on the man-advantage and the Black Bears went 0-2.
- At 2:33 of the third period, senior Chris Miller (Windham, N.H.) tied the game at 2-2 with his second goal of the season as he fired a shot to the upper stick side of the net.
- Maine took a 3-2 lead at 5:22 as Robbins scored on a breakaway after receiving a pass from Brady Keeper. The goal was his second of the game.
- Freshman Jackson Pierson (Zionsville, Ind.) tied the game at 3-3 at 12:00 when he scored on a rebound off a shot by senior Ara Nazarian (Boxford, Mass.) for his sixth goal of the season.
- The Wildcats then took a 4-3 lead with 2:46 remaining in the third period when freshman Angus Crookshank (North Vancouver, British Columbia) sent a backhander to the upper glove side of the net off a pass by Blackburn.
- The Black Bears tied the game at 4-4 with 1:28 left, when Jakub Sirota netted his first career goal on a wrist shot.
- The game would go to overtime as the Wildcats went on a power play with 3:58 left. But the Black Bears killed the penalty.
- Neither team was able to score the game-winner for the 4-4 final score.

- Maine outshot UNH by a 34-26 margin.
- Sophomore Mike Robinson (Bedford, N.H.) made 30 saves, while Jeremy Swayman recorded 22.
- The Wildcats went 1-4 on the power play and the Black Bears went 0-3.
