Olhava leads UNH with 14 kills
DURHAM, N.H. – Senior Gabri Olhava (Mount Prospect, Ill.) led the University of New Hampshire volleyball to its second straight three set sweep in a row, this time over Hartford at Lundholm Gymnasium Friday night. The Wildcats improve to 6-10 and are 2-0 in America East play, while the Hawks fall to 7-7 and are 0-2 in the conference.
Olhava posted a team high 14 kills with a .375 hitting percentage.
Another key in the Wildcat offense was freshman Maddie Wiedenfeld (Omaha, Neb.). After leading the team in kills in their last match against UMass-Lowell, Wiedenfeld put up the second most kills on the team with eight. She had a .300 hitting percentage. Senior Molly Wotton (Dover N.H.) had seven kills.
Juniors Kennedi Smith (The Woodlands, Texas) and Logan Welti (Middleton, Wis.) led the team defensively with nine digs, while junior Emily Tanski (Plymouth, Mich.) had seven digs.
Sophomore Emma Patlovich (Lake Forest, Ill.) tallied 34 assists on the night.

SET 1
- There were seven tie scores and three lead changes.
- UH took the first point, but UNH responded and scored four straight points.
- A kill from Wotton helped UNH on a five-point run to make it 13-6 Wildcats.
- The Hawks went on a three-point streak to pull within one at 17-16.
- With the set now tied at 20-20, a kill from Olhava gave the Wildcats a 21-20 advantage.
- Back and forth points tied the set at 25-25.
- With the Wildcats now leading 26-25, a kill from Olhava gave the Wildcats the first set victory.
SET 2
- There were three tied scores and two lead changes.
- UNH took the first point, and then the Hawks answered with four straight points.
- UNH battled back to tie the set at 9-9 forcing the Hawks to call a timeout.
- UNH went on a 10-1 run with two kills from Wotton and a kill and an ace from Patlovich, and two aces from Smith.
- Back and forth points kept UNH ahead with a score of 24-16.
- Olhava had another set clinching kill to give the Wildcats a 2-0 lead.
SET 3
- There were seven tied scores and five lead changes.
- UNH went on a five point streak that included two aces from Smith and two kills from Olhava. UNH lead 13-8.
- The Hawks went on a 3-1 run to make it 14-11 UNH.
- A kill from Wiedenfeld and an ace from Welti put UNH up 17-12.
- The Hawks scored three straight to make it 18-16 Wildcats.
- Kills from Olhava and Smith gave UNH a 20-16 lead.
- Back and forth points made it a 22-18 game, with UNH still in the lead.
- An ace from Mali Jereczek (Green Bay, Wis.) gave the Wildcats the three set sweep, 25-19.
