UNH Treats Education Day Crowd of 1,337 to Win
DURHAM, N.H. - Senior center Carlie Pogue (Cincinnati, Ohio) poured in a season-high 29 points and added nine rebounds to lead the University of New Hampshire women's basketball team to a 76-58 win over Hartford in front of a loud and lively Education Day crowd of 1,337 in Lundholm Gymnasium on Wednesday morning.
UNH got some revenge against the Hawks and improved to 17-10 overall and 8-6 in America East. The Wildcats lost at Hartford, 85-49, on Jan. 31.
The Wildcats play Stony Brook for Senior Day in Lundholm on Saturday at 1 p.m. in its final regular season game of the season.
Senior forward Kat Fogarty (Westminster, Mass.) had 17 points and seven rebounds and senior guard Brittni Lai (Irvington, N.Y.) added 13 points and eight assists. Lai also had a career-high six steals.

The Wildcats have only two regular season games remaining.
They play Stony Brook at home on Saturday at 1 p.m. for Senior Day.
The Wildcats close out the regular season with a game at UMass Lowell on Thursday, Feb. 22 at 7 p.m.

HIGHLIGHTS
Pogue and Fogarty took full advantage of the nice work turned in by Lai and Wildcat playmakers. Lai and others attacked the basket and were able to attract attention and then dish off to the frontcourt players for a number of layups.
UNH broke the game open with a 15-0 run in the fourth period.
Pogue made her first 11 shots from the field and was 12-for-14 for the game. Fogarty was 8-for-14 from the field.
It was the sixth time this season Pogue scored 20 or more points in a game. Her previous high this season was 23 points. Her career high is 32.
UNH had 20 assists on its 32 baskets. The team's season high is 21 and this was the fourth time the Wildcats had at least 20 assists.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The teams went back and forth in the first half. Fogarty scored 10 points and UNH led 19-18 after one period.
Hartford owned a 32-31 edge at the half.
Pogue made all seven of her field goals and had 17 points in the third quarter. UNH outscored Hartford 26-17 in the period for a 57-49 lead with a quarter to play.
The Hawks cut UNH's lead to 59-54 with 7:58 left in the fourth period.
It was all UNH after that. Fogarty hit a layup and a foul shot with 6:59 left and followed with a 14-foot jumper, freshman guard Amanda Torres (Hudson, N.H.) nailed a three-pointer and Lai had a layup to get the 15-0 run started.
