GAME RECAP
- Schlagel scored at 3:53 and 12:45 of the second period to give UNH a 2-0 lead through 40 minutes.
- She broke the scoreless tie when her screened shot from the top of the left circle sailed into the upper-right corner. McManus skated out from behind the net to the left side before slipping a pass to Schlagel. Curtis was credited with the secondary assist.
- Schlagel struck again at 12:45, moments after a faceoff to Hanson's right. BU attempted to clear the puck up the boards, but Taylor knocked the puck down and backhanded an indirect pass to the left point, where Schlagel fired another rising shot into the cage.
- Nicole Dunbar (Coto de Caza,Calif.) extended the advantage to 3-0 at 5:20 of the third period on a goal from the left doorstep. Taylor, who skated the puck down the right wing, and Carlee Turner (Scottsdale, Ariz.), who won the faceoff forward to Taylor, set up what proved to be the game-winning goal.
- BU's Mary Parker jammed in her own rebound at the right post to trim the deficit to 3-1 at 11:54.
- The Terriers pulled Hanson in favor of an extra skater with 2:50 to play and Alexis Crossley scored from the right point 27 seconds later to pull the home team within 3-2.
- Hanson skated to the bench with 1:53 remaining but returned to the ice with 49 seconds on the clock when a teammate was whistled for tripping.
- Curtis swept a loose puck into the net at 19:19 to reestablish a two-goal lead, 4-2, and secure the victory. Marie-Jo Pelletier (Dalhousie, New Brunswick), whose initial shot from the high slot sailed over the cage off the end boards, and McManus were credited with assists.
- UNH recorded an 8-7 shot advantage in the scoreless first period. BU controlled play in the opening five minutes and Cashin came up big when she denied Rebecca Leslie at the left doorstep and Maddie Elia off the rebound at the top of the crease.
- In the 12th minute, Nicole Dunbar (Coto de Caza, Calif.) led a rush down the left side of the slot and fired a shot off the pipe.
- The Wildcats went on the first power play of the game at 18:53. Curtis carried the puck down the left wing in the waning seconds and was denied by Hanson from close range.
