Knight's 4 TD Passes, Defense Lead 'Cats Over Towson

DURHAM, N.H. – Junior quarterback Trevor Knight (Amherst, N.H.) passed for four touchdowns in the second quarter to break the game open and lead No. 18 New Hampshire to a 40-17 triumph over Towson University in front of a Wildcat Stadium crowd of 10,522 on Saturday afternoon.
Knight completed 19 of 30 passes for 197 yards and the career-high four scores for the game. Redshirt freshman Nick Lorden (Milford, N.H.) caught a career-high two scoring passes of 6 and 4 yards.
Redshirt freshman DeUnte Chatman (Houston, Texas) had a career high 22 carries for a career high 187 yards and career high two scores. The rushing yards were the high for a Wildcat this season.
Sophomore Brandon Gallagher (Raynham, Mass.) rushed 12 times for 104 yards.
Junior Neil O'Connor (Leominster, Mass.) caught a 5-yard TD pass for his ninth score of the season. Junior Kieran Presley (Amherst, Mass.) had the other touchdown catch of 14 yards.
The UNH defense held Towson to 279 yards of offense, a low for the season, and allowed the Tigers to convert only one of 11 third down chances into a first down. Sophomore safety Rick Ellison (Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif.) led the defense with a career high 12 tackles.
The Wildcats rushed for a season-high total of 299 yards and had a season-high 508 total yards of offense.
The Wildcats improved to 5-2 overall and 3-1 in the Colonial Athletic Association and bounced back nicely from a loss at Stony Brook last week.
Towson fell to 2-5 overall and 0-4 in the league.
