Volleyball Travels to Bryant for Chance at Third Straight Win (Sept. 6; 7 PM)

DURHAM, N.H. – The University of New Hampshire volleyball team heads to Bryant University for a chance at its third straight victory Tuesday night, Sept. 6 (7 PM) at Chace Athletic Center.

The Wildcats will continue the road swing at Temple University for a three-game tournament with Rutgers University (Sept. 9; 3 PM), Temple (Sept. 10; 10 AM) and Cleveland State University (Sept. 10; 4 PM). New Hampshire then returns home on Tuesday, Sept. 13 (7 PM) to host Harvard University in Lundholm Gymnasium.

UNH just returned from the Beantown Challenge hosted by Harvard and Boston College. The 'Cats pulled out a 3-2 win against both Siena College (25-16, 21-25, 18-25, 25-16, 15-13) and BC (21-25, 25-18, 22-25, 25-14, 15-12). Freshman Emily Tanski (Plymouth, Mich.) totaled 29 kills and 36 digs in two games for a double-double average. Junior Courtney Bowman (Chagrin Falls, Ohio) also recorded back-to-back double-doubles with 28 kills and 25 digs in two contests. Senior captain Keelin Severtson (Delray Beach, Fla.) tallied 103 assists in two games. The Wildcats defeated the Eagles for the first time since 2003. Both Tanski and Bowman were named to the Beantown Challenge All-Tournament team after both matches.

The Bulldogs recently fell 3-1 to Brown University on the road for their fifth straight loss. Julia Flynn tallied 17 kills and 11 digs while Margot Ruffieux recorded 12 kills. Nikki Kim did the work near the floor with 21 digs. Flynn is averaging 3.33 kills and 2.22 digs per set. Kirstyn Sperry handles setting duties with 200 assists this season (8.33 per set). Krstin Kingi leads Bryant with 76 digs this season (3.62 digs per set). The Bulldogs are coached by 21st-year head coach Theresa Garlacy.
All-Time Series
The Wildcats hold a 5-2 overall record against the Bulldogs in the all-time series. Last season, UNH defeated Bryant in four sets at home.
