Tanski’s Double-Double Leads Volleyball Over Siena, 3-2

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Freshmen outside hitter Emily Tanski (Plymouth, Mich.) notched a career-first double-double with 15 kills and 14 digs to lead the University of New Hampshire volleyball team to a 3-2 set win (25-16, 21-15, 18-25, 25-16, 15-13) over Siena College in game one of the Beantown Challenge at the University of Harvard.

The Wildcats were down 2-1 heading into the fourth set but UNH jumped out to a 9-2 lead early on key Saints' mistakes. Bowman totaled four kills in the set. New Hampshire would go on to win the set handedly, 25-16.
-5th set-
New Hampshire scored five straight points in the final set with two kills from Tanski and three attacking errors on Siena. The Saints stormed back to trail by one, 10-9, with five points to play, on an assisted block by Romona Georgescu and Haley Howell. Both teams split the next eight points as UNH led 14-13 with a chance at match point. After a few volleys, Severtson set up Bowman at the net and Bowman earned the kill for the final point.
The Saints took a 2-1 set lead on a 45- 39 kill lead and a hitting percentage of .302 and .400 in the second and third sets, respectively.
