
Carlson on All-Tournament Team on Final Day of Temple Tournament

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Senior Sara Carlson (Hutchinson, Minn.) was named to the All-Tournament team on the final day of the Hilton Philadelphia at Penn's Landing Cherry & White Challenge on the campus of Temple University Saturday afternoon.
All-Tournament Team
Carlson was named to the All-Tournament team after putting together a 57-dig effort for UNH. She entered the tournament with 57 total digs through seven matches. The recent women's hockey standout has transitioned to volleyball during her fifth year, this season.
Match One – UNH vs. Temple
Temple bested the Wildcats in four sets (26-24, 25-21, 18-25, 25-15) in the opening game. Courtney Bowman (Chagrin Falls, Ohio) finished with 14 kills in the match, including seven digs. Emily Tanski (Plymouth, Mich.) tallied 12 kills and eight digs. The Wildcats pulled out set number three with a final 8-2 run to seal the deal.

Match Two – UNH vs. CSU
The Wildcats fell in match two of the day, the final match of the tournament, to Cleveland State in four sets (16-25, 25-22, 26-28, 12-25). Demi Muses (Orangevale, Calif.) led UNH with 15 kills. Carlson tallied 19 digs, one shy of her career-high which she set against Rutgers yesterday. UNH evened up the sets, 1-1, in set two. The Wildcats led most of the set except when CSU took a 7-6 lead. Shortly after, UNH scored seven of the next eight points for a 13-8 lead and the set.
