Volleyball Takes On Delaware and Coppin State at Kristen Dickmann Invite

DURHAM, N.H. – Defending America East champion University of New Hampshire volleyball team returns to the court for two matches on the final day of the Kristen Dickmann Invitational at the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md.
New Hampshire Scout
The Wildcats fell in four sets Friday night in the first game of the Kristen Dickmann Invitational. Senior setter Keelin Severtson (Delray Beach, Fla.) finished with 33 assists, 10 digs and five kills led the 'Cats in the match. Freshman Emily Tanski (Plymouth, Mich.) recorded 13 kills, 11 digs and three assists in her first collegiate match. UNH out-killed Navy 42-37 but the Mids were strong at the net topping the Wildcats 15-4 in blocks.
Friday, August 26: Navy – 7 PM
Navy prevailed 3-1 (25-17, 22-25, 25-19, 25-16) in the season-opening match for UNH.
Saturday, August 27: University of Delaware – 1 PM

Delaware Scout
The Blue Hens enter the season picked to finish sixth out of nine teams in the Colonial Athletic Conference. Middle blocker Alexa Swann was named CAA Preseason Honorable Mention after a season where she averaged 1.13 blocks per set and a .292 hitting percentage in 2015. Delaware returns four starters and 10 letterwinners from a year ago. Head coach Bonnie Kenney enters her 15th season with the team. Delaware leads the all-time series with a 12-8 record overall.

The Coppin State Eagles finished the 2015 season with a 9-15 mark overall and a 6-6 record in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference. The team returns three letterwinners and brought in eight freshmen for the new season. Outside hitter Bailee Jackson leads the returners with 161 kills (1.99 kills per set), 822 assists (9.45 assists per set) and 15 services aces a season ago. Head coach Kyette May was named the 11th coach of the program last season. New Hampshire and Coppin State have battled once in their all-time series as UNH topped the Eagles back in 2009.
