GAME RECAP
- New Hampshire scored four times in a span of 11 minutes, 16 seconds to take a 4-0 lead less than 22 minutes into the game.
- Ashley Mendonca (Brampton, Ontario) struck first at 9:55 when she advanced from the 25 to the top of the circle and blasted a low shot into the cage.
- Nerbonne extended the advantage to 2-0 at 13:09. She corralled the ball low in the circle, turned and, while falling to the ground, swept a low shot inside the right side of the goal.
- The Wildcats converted a penalty corner into a goal and 3-0 advantage at 19:24. Katie Audino (Severn, Md.) inserted the ball to the top of the circle for Rachel Bossi (Chelmsford, Mass.) and Jessica Schmidt (Warrington, Pa.) scored on a direct shot.
- Another corner resulted in a goal to make it a 4-0 margin at 21:11. Audino executed a short corner to Nerbonne on the left side, and her low drive deflected off goalkeeper Emma Plumb's leg pads into the cage.
- Dartmouth earned its first corner of the game in the 32nd minute and parlayed that into a goal that trimmed the deficit to 4-1. On the left side, Morgan Philie collected Sarah Tabeek's pass from the top of the circle and scored on a low shot at 32:21.
- UNH took that three-goal lead into halftime with sizable advantages in shots (15-3) and penalty corners (5-1).
- The Big Green closed within 4-2 just 1:51 into the second half to give the visitors two goals in a span of 5:30. Dartmouth was awarded a penalty stroke and Amrit Ahluwalia entered the game. She calmly flicked a shot inside the right post, and returned to the bench.
- New Hampshire regained momentum, however, and the 'Cats were given a penalty stroke at 50:01. Nerbonne, who was on the bench, reentered the game and rifled a shot to the bottom-right corner for her third goal of the game and a 5-2 lead. She also returned to the bench after scoring on the stroke.
- Tiana Morin (Barre, Mass.) closed the scoring with 40 seconds remaining as she drove on the right endline and slipped a shot into the cage.
'CAT NIPS
- Nerbonne is No. 9 on the program's career goals leaderboard with 37. Her 81 points is tied for 11th with Becky Craigue (1995-98).
- Nerbonne and Mendonca are now tied for the team lead in goals with 12.
- Nerbonne's three-goal effort marked the first hat trick by a Wildcat since Aug. 29, 2015, when she struck three times vs. UMass.
- Audino matched her personal best of two assists and she is second on the squad with nine helpers this season.
- Madelyn McAteer (Annapolis, Md.) entered the game in goal for the final 8:13 and did not face a shot, but she did make a sliding tackle to deny a Dartmouth scoring chance with two minutes left in the game.
- The six goals marked a season high for UNH, which had scored a high of three goals three times.
- The 28 shots tied the season high established Oct. 2 vs. Vermont.
