Game Recap
- UNH pressured in the opening minute with a flurry of shots by Lindsey Nerbonne (Bow, N.H.). Her first shot was blocked by a defender and second was stopped by goalie Emma Cochran. Nerbonne corralled the rebound and her next shot beat Cochran but was cleared off the goal line by Casey Crowley.
- Maine converted the first penalty corner of the game into a 1-0 lead at 10:48. Samantha Wagg scored the goal with Libby Riedl getting the assist.
- The Wildcats responded with immediate pressure and generated a corner one minute later. The direct shot by Jessica Schmidt (Warrington, Pa.) once again beat the Maine goalie, but once again a teammate – this time Wagg – was there to make the defensive save. Off the rebound Ashley Mendonca (Brampton, Ontario) was denied by Cochran.
- In the 13th minute, Nerbonne was turned away by Cochran.
- Maine scored goals less than two minutes apart to quickly build a 3-0 lead. Brianna Ricker tipped in Riedl's strike on another corner at 31:30. Riedl then scored off rebound at 33:13 after Brianna Ricker's initial shot hit the post.
- UNH trailed by three goals despite the 10-9 shot advantage that included 7-4 on goal. Maine out-cornered the guests 3-1.
- Riley Field pushed the margin to four goals, 4-0, at 41:51 on a shot from the top of the circle.
- The 'Cats called time out at 49:35.
- UNH scored off a penalty corner to trim the deficit to 4-1 at 61:40. On the left wing, Bajus received a pass from Rachel Bossi and blasted a shot into the cage.
- Crowley, with the assistance of Sydney Veljacic, closed the scoring at 68:06.
