Nerbonne Records Goal and Assist in 3-1 Win at Vermont

BURLINGTON, Vt. – Lindsey Nerbonne (Bow, N.H.) recorded a goal and an assist to propel the University of New Hampshire field hockey team to Sunday afternoon's 3-1 victory against the University of Vermont at Moulton Winder Field.
UNH dominated the Battle of the 'Cats and finished with a 28-5 shot advantage, which included a 15-1 edge in shots on goal, and an 8-3 advantage in penalty corners.
Aggie Sutherland (Dauphin, Pa.) and Kayla Sliz (Ajax, Ontario) scored UNH's other goals and goalkeeper Kelsey Rudert (North Grafton, N.Y.) was not credited with a save.

1st Half
- Sutherland scored her first career goal off a centering pass from Gianna Bensaia (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) to give the Wildcats a 1-0 lead at 3:51.
- UVM converted a penalty corner into a goal by Lauren Tucker to tie the score, 1-1, at 23:14.
- The score was tied 1-1 through 35 minutes despite UNH's sizable advantage in both shots (11-4) and corners (5-2).
2nd Half
- Sliz also scored her first career goal on what proved to be the game-winning goal when she corralled Nerbonne's centering pass in the middle of the circle and shot the ball into the cage for a 2-1 lead at 44:41.
- Nerbonne collected a pass on the right wing and dribbled into the circle before firing a shot into the cage to extend the advantage to 3-1 at 57:06.
- New Hampshire tallied a 17-1 shot advantage in the second half.
UNH NOTEBOOK
- UNH won for the first time in six games and for the first time in five road games this season.
- The Wildcats recorded a season-high 28 shots.
