BURLINGTON, Vt. – Lindsey Nerbonne (Bow, N.H.) recorded a goal and an assist to propel the University of New Hampshire field hockey team to Sunday afternoon's 3-1 victory against the University of Vermont at Moulton Winder Field.

UNH dominated the Battle of the 'Cats and finished with a 28-5 shot advantage, which included a 15-1 edge in shots on goal, and an 8-3 advantage in penalty corners.

Aggie Sutherland (Dauphin, Pa.) and Kayla Sliz (Ajax, Ontario) scored UNH's other goals and goalkeeper Kelsey Rudert (North Grafton, N.Y.) was not credited with a save.

1^st Half

Sutherland scored her first career goal off a centering pass from Gianna Bensaia (Yorktown Heights, N.Y.) to give the Wildcats a 1-0 lead at 3:51.
UVM converted a penalty corner into a goal by Lauren Tucker to tie the score, 1-1, at 23:14.
The score was tied 1-1 through 35 minutes despite UNH's sizable advantage in both shots (11-4) and corners (5-2).

2^nd Half

Sliz also scored her first career goal on what proved to be the game-winning goal when she corralled Nerbonne's centering pass in the middle of the circle and shot the ball into the cage for a 2-1 lead at 44:41.
Nerbonne collected a pass on the right wing and dribbled into the circle before firing a shot into the cage to extend the advantage to 3-1 at 57:06.
New Hampshire tallied a 17-1 shot advantage in the second half.

UNH NOTEBOOK

UNH won for the first time in six games and for the first time in five road games this season.
The Wildcats recorded a season-high 28 shots.

'CAT NIPS

Nerbonne scored her seventh goal of the season to move into a tie with Ashley Mendonca (Bampton, Ontario) for the team lead.
Nerbonne recorded nearly one-third of the team's 28 shots with nine, seven of which were on goal – that team total was 15.
Sutherland returned to the lineup vs. UVM after missing the previous two games because of injury.
