Stadium On The Rise: Reserve Your Seat

Many UNH football fans got their first look at the new, under-construction Wildcat Stadium last Saturday during the team's 57-14 win over Central Connecticut State University.
This Saturday they'll have a chance to check out the week-to-week progress on the stadium when the Wildcats take on Elon in their sold-out Homecoming game at 3:30 in Cowell Stadium.
Fans can also start reserving spots on the priority list for 2016 football season tickets in Wildcat Stadium. The athletics department last week kicked off a marketing campaign designed to create awareness and excitement around the stadium.
Fans were able to sign up to reserve priority position for 2016 tickets at last week's game and will be able to do so again this week and at each of the home games this season.
Meanwhile, an 80-ton crane continued to raise steel beams into place and welders worked to secure them this week as the building takes shape.
On the back of the building, away from the football field, an arch frames what will be an entrance to the stadium.
Matching decks on either side of the Legends Club – which will offer premium food along with premium seating – are being put in place. The decks stand 43 feet above the ground and will offer prime open air spots from which to watch the games.
Early next week, beams for the Club will go up, beginning the process of tying the two decks together, said Eric Price, the superintendent for stadium contractor PC Construction.
Most of Wednesday was lost to rain, but the project has been moving along well and is on schedule.
"We always like to see the steel go up," Price said. "Then you can get your exterior walls and start to close in the building. That's a milestone for us and it gives us an ability to start working on the interior."
Framers, sheathers and masonry workers will be on site shortly and begin working on exterior walls.
"We'll start filtering in the other trades in the next two or three weeks and continue to make the stadium look more like a building," Price said. "We'll keep our fingers crossed to keep winter off for a bit. Either way we'll get it done, but a later start to winter would give us a little more time."

The marketing campaign for 2016 football season tickets is allowing fans to put themselves in priority position for a variety of seating options in the new facility by placing a $25 deposit per seat.
Fans will choose their particular ticket plans and precise seats at a later date. The deposit is non-binding and totally refundable.
There will be Reservation Stations set up at each home game this season and deposits may also be made through www.unhstadium.com or at https://oss.ticketmaster.com/aps/unh/EN/link/buy/quickbuy/151.

The Wildcats have six regular season games – three of them in Cowell Stadium – left after Elon.
The three other home games are against Rhode Island on Oct. 31 (1 p.m.), against Richmond on Nov. 7 (3 p.m.) and against Maine on Nov. 21 (1 p.m.).
Ticket for this year's home games are available in person at the Whittemore Center Box Office, by phone at 603-862-4000 ext. 5 or at http://www.ticketmaster.com/Unh-Football-tickets/artist/833820.
UNH's first two home games against Central Connecticut State and Elon have both been sellouts. Students receive a free ticket to the game and can still pick up tickets to the Elon game through Friday at 5 p.m. at the Whittemore Center Box Office.
Cowell Stadium is operating with a limited capacity this season because of the new stadium construction.
The Wildcats have three road games left, too. They are off on Oct. 10 and play at William & Mary on Oct. 17 (noon), at Delaware on Oct. 24 (3:30 p.m.) and at Albany on Nov. 14 (7 p.m.).
