IRVING, Texas – Grad student running back Myles Thomason (Montclair, N.J.) of the University of New Hampshire football team was named a semifinalist for the National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame William V. Campbell Trophy on Wednesday.
The Campbell Trophy is college football's premier scholar-athlete award. Celebrating its 37th year, this award recognizes an individual as the absolute best football scholar-athlete in the nation for combined academic success, football performance and exemplary leadership
The 206 semifinalists represent every NCAA division and the NAIA. The group is the largest in the history of the award, eclipsing the previous record of 204 set in 2024.
The NFF will announce between 12-16 finalists Oct. 21, and each will receive an $18,000 postgraduate scholarship as a member of the 2026 NFF National Scholar-Athlete Class Presented by Fidelity Investments. The winner will be announced Dec. 8 and that scholarship will be increased to $25,000.
UNH returns to action Sept. 26 (12pm) at Sacred Heart and the Wildcats' next home game is Oct. 3 (1 pm) against Elon for Homecoming and Hall of Fame Weekend. Go online to unh.short.gy/FBTickets26 to buy half-season or single game tickets as well as parking.

Thomason is one of 45 semifinalists from FCS and one of 111 offensive players.
Thomason graduated with a Business Administration: Marketing degree in December 2025 with a 3.66 cumulative GPA and is currently pursuing a master's degree in finance. He has been named to the UNH Dean's List six times, including Highest Honors four times, and has made the CAA Football Commissioner's Honor Roll all eight semesters.
Thomason was named CAA Football Honorable Mention at the end of the 2025 season to the Phil Steele FCS 2026 Preseason All-America Fourth Team as well as the 2026 CAA Football Preseason All-Conference Team as a running back.
He has started 18 consecutive games with 25 starts overall in 3+ seasons as a Wildcat. In 44 career games, Thomason has amassed 2,632 all-purpose yards and 10 touchdowns with a breakdown of 1,423 rushing, 499 receiving, 444 punt return and 266 kickoff return.
Thomason helped lead the Wildcats to an NCAA tournament berth a year ago, when he was UNH's leader in rushes (193), rushing yards (736), punt returns (18), punt return yards (233) and all-purpose yards (1,229); those numbers calculated to 94.5 all-purpose yards per game.
Thomason has been part of UNH's Inclusive Leaders Fellowship, which is a group in Paul College where minorities and POC or first-generation students come together to discuss topics and come up with ideas to stay connected throughout the school years.
He also organized and ran his own football camp for kids in his hometown. It was a two-day camp to reconnect with community. He planned drills, the schedule and acquired permits to ensure everything went smoothly.
Myles has also assisted with a toy drive at Llewelyn Parq, which is a local black owned business in Myles' neighborhood.
Nominated by their schools, which are limited to one nominee each, each candidate must be competing in the 2026 season as a senior in his final year of eligibility or a graduate student/graduate transfer who has already earned a degree; have a cumulative undergraduate GPA of at least 3.2 on a 4.0 scale; have outstanding football ability as a first team player or significant contributor; and have demonstrated strong leadership and citizenship.
The class is selected each year by the NFF Awards Committee, which is composed of a nationally recognized group of media, NFF College Football Hall of Famers and athletics administrators.
