Service Credit Union Student-Athletes of the Week: Emma Converse and Graham Dougald

DURHAM, N.H. – Junior Emma Converse (San Antonio, Texas) of the University of New Hampshire volleyball team and grad student Graham Dougald (Charlottesville, Va.) of the UNH men's soccer team were named the Service Credit Union Student-Athletes of the Week on Aug. 31.
Emma was named MVP of the Holly Young Invitational that UNH hosted Aug. 28-29; the Wildcats went 3-0 to win the tournament. The junior outside hitter led UNH in points, points per set, kills and kills per set. She also ranked second in both digs and digs per set, and was third in service aces.
Emma recorded a career-high 20 kills on a .381 hitting percentage to pace New Hampshire to a four-set win against Providence College in the tourney finale. The first-year Wildcat finished with 11 kills on a .458 hitting percentage in the sweep of Saint Peter's and also recorded a double-double of 11 kills and 11 digs in UNH's opener against New Haven.
The UNH volleyball team returns to action Sept. 4-5 at the Boston College Invitational. The 'Cats play Bucknell (11am) and Stonehill (5 pm) on opening day and BC (2pm) on Sept. 5. UNH's next home match is Sept. 27 (1pm) against Binghamton.

Graham broke a 1-1 tie in the 55th minute and it proved to be the game-winning goal as New Hampshire defeated St. John's University, 2-1, at Wildcat Stadium on Aug. 27. The midfielder made the most of his 16 minutes of playing time when he struck a low shot from 18 yards into the lower-right corner of the net to score his first goal as a Wildcat.
