
Service Credit Union Student-Athletes of the Week: Shya Walker and Scott Williams

DURHAM, N.H. – Grad student forward Shya Walker (Philadelphia, Pa.) of the University of New Hampshire women's soccer team and grad student goalkeeper Scott Williams (Cincinnati, Ohio) of the UNH men's soccer team were named the Service Credit Union Student-Athletes of the Week on Aug. 25.
Shya, a transfer from LaSalle, scored her first goal as a UNH Wildcat to give New Hampshire a 1-0 lead in the 60thminute of the Wildcats' home opener Aug. 21 against Stonehill College. She was unmarked five feet in front of the goal when she redirected Elizabeth Finn's centering pass into the net.
The UNH women's soccer team returns to action Aug. 28 (6 p.m.) at College of the Holy Cross and the next home game is Aug. 31 (2 p.m.) vs. Siena College.
Scott, a transfer from the University of Virginia, stopped 6 of 7 shots on goal in his first two games as a UNH Wildcat to record a 0.50 GAA and .857 save percentage. Scott recorded his first UNH shutout with a four-save effort in the scoreless draw vs. Colgate University on Aug. 24.
The UNH men's soccer team returns to action Aug. 28 (7 p.m.) at St. John's University. The Wildcats' next home game is Sept. 13 (6 p.m.) vs. UMass.
