DURHAM, N.H. – The University of New Hampshire women's basketball program, led by second-year head coach Megan Shoniker, has announced the promotion of Alexa Brodie to assistant coach and the addition of Maxwell Fink to the staff as the director of operations/assistant coach.
Brodie has been elevated to an assistant coach after joining the Wildcats last season as a director of operations/assistant coach.
"I am really excited to announce the promotion of Alexa Brodie to assistant coach," Shoniker said. "From the moment Brodie joined our staff, she had an immediate impact on our program. Not only did she oversee all of our operations, but she played an instrumental role in the development of our guards and the recruiting of our current roster.
"She can connect and build meaningful relationships with players, and she can teach the game in a way that resonates with them," Shoniker added. "Brodie's passion, work ethic, and desire to be great is contagious. She is a rising star in this business, and we are lucky to have her."
Brodie graduated magna cum laude with a B.A. in Economics in 2024 from Colgate University, where she was a five-year letterwinner and four-time captain. She eclipsed 1,000 career points, holds the program record for both games played and started, and is No. 2 in career assists. Her accolades as a senior included All-Patriot League Defensive Team and All-Patriot League Second Team.
Fink was a graduate assistant the past two seasons (2023-24 and 2024-25) for the Kent State University women's basketball team, where his responsibilities included working primarily with the point guards, day-to-day operations, video operations and player development. Prior to joining the Golden Flashes, Fink worked four seasons (Oct. 2019-May 2023) with the Indiana University women's basketball program as a student manager. He assisted coaches with player development and the director of operations with day-to-day activities.
"I want to welcome Maxwell Fink to our staff as our director of basketball operations and assistant coach," Shoniker said. "Maxwell is known as a tireless worker who is willing to do whatever it takes to help his team be successful. During his time at Indiana and Kent State, he had a wide range of responsibilities and gained experience in both operations and on court coaching which makes him a perfect fit for this role.
"Both of those programs are championship level programs, so Maxwell understands what we are trying to build here," Shoniker added. "I am thrilled that Maxwell is joining our staff and can't wait to roll up the sleeves and get to work."
Fink graduated from Indiana with a B.S. in Kinesiology in May 2023 and earned a Master of Arts in Sport Administration from Kent State this past spring.
The 2025-26 UNH women's basketball season will begin in early November and America East conference play starts in January.
