Aurora Kahlert Named Hockey East Defender of the Month

Kahlert logged four points and a team-high +9 rating in the first month of the season
AMESBURY, Mass. — University of New Hampshire freshman defenseman Aurora Kahlert (Maple Ridge, British Columbia) was named Army ROTC Hockey East Defender of the Month on Wednesday (Nov. 5). The nomination marks Kahlert's second award of the season, previously winning Army ROTC Hockey East Player of the Week on Oct. 13.
Kahlert opened her collegiate career on a strong note, logging her first career point with the opening goal in UNH's 3-0 win over Assumption (Oct. 4), kickstarting a three-game point streak that saw Kahlert log an assist and goal in the Wildcats' series with Union the following weekend (Oct. 10-11). Kahlert went on to tally an assist in New Hampshire's 5-2 win over Merrimack (Nov. 1), closing her month with four points (2g, 2a), the highest total among defenseman for the Wildcats.
In addition, Kahlert blocked 14 shots and earned a team-leading plus-nine rating through New Hampshire's first 10 games of the season, tied with Holy Cross' Violet Carroll for the highest total across Hockey East.

The Wildcats remain home on Friday, Nov. 7, as they host Providence College (3-6-1, 1-2-1 HEA) with a 6pm puck drop at the Whittemore Center at Key Auto Group Complex.
