Morgan Winters scored a goal for the Wildcats
DURHAM, N.H. – Senior captain Morgan Winters (Osprey, Fla.) scored the lone goal for the Wildcats as the University of New Hampshire men's hockey team fell to No. 10 UConn, 4-1, on Friday night in the Whittemore Center at Key Auto Group Complex in Hockey East Action.
Senior goalie Kyle Chauvette (Goffstown, N.H.) recorded 18 saves for UNH.
The Wildcats fall to 5-7-0 (2-4-0 Hockey East), while the Huskies advance to 7-4-2 (5-2-1 Hockey East).
UP NEXT:
- UNH will play at UConn on Saturday, Nov. 22 at 6:30 p.m.
- After the UConn series, the next three games are on the road for the Wildcats with a game at Bentley (Nov. 29) and a two-game Border Battle series at Maine (Dec. 5-6) presented by Buffalo Wild Wings. UNH will then return to the Whitt on Sunday, Dec. 14 versus Granite State rival Dartmouth at 4 p.m. as fans can Skate with the 'Cats after the game.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- At 18:01 of the first period, Jake Richard sent a pass over to Brendan Dunphy who fired a shot from the top of the left faceoff circle into the top right corner of the net to give UConn a 1-0 lead.
- Alexandre Blais extended the Huskies lead to 2-0 on the UConn power play at 10:49 of the second period.
- At 18:03 of the second period, junior forward Nick Ring (Hingham, Mass.) left a drop pass for Winters who blasted a shot into the back of the net to put the 'Cats on the board as he tied the team lead with five goals on the season. Junior defensemen Brendan Fitzgerald (North Reading, Mass.) also posted an assist on the goal.

- The Huskies extended their lead to 3-1 at 7:29 of the third period when Tristan Fraser sent a loose puck from the right faceoff circle that deflected off a UNH defender into the back of the net.
- Tabor Heaslip scored an empty-net goal for the Huskies for the 4-1 win.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- UNH outshot UConn, 37-22.
- The Huskies went 1-5 on the man-advantage and the Wildcats went 0-3.
- Chauvette posted 18 saves while Tyler Muszelik made 36 saves for UConn to earn the win.
