Breezeline becomes naming sponsor of UNH Gaming & E-Sports Club
DURHAM, N.H. — UNH Athletics and Breezeline announced today an expansion of their longstanding partnership that will make Breezeline the official naming sponsor of the UNH Gaming and E-Sports Club. The partnership will be commemorated during the UNH football game against Maine on Saturday, November 22 (1pm) at Wildcat Stadium.
Breezeline will formally present a check to the UNH Gaming and E-Sports Club during an on-field recognition. The announcement underscores the growing influence of E-Sports on the UNH campus and the company's dedication to supporting student opportunities in both athletics and digital literacy.
"UNH Athletics has always prioritized fostering excellence and engaging community, and this partnership with Breezeline allows us to extend those values into E-Sports," said Allison Rich, UNH Director of Athletics. "This collaboration with Breezeline not only reflects the evolving interests of our student body but also promotes digital literacy, helping students build valuable skills through gaming, teamwork, and technology."
Founded as a competitive gaming hub, the UNH E-Sports program has grown into the Gaming & E-Sports Club, which now serves hundreds of students across both competitive and casual gaming communities. The club currently fields two competitive teams—League of Legends and Overwatch—while also providing a space for students to connect socially, scrimmage, and participate in tournaments.
"We're thrilled to see Breezeline expand its partnership with UNH Athletics into the growing world of E-Sports," said Demi Kneeland, General Manager of Wildcat Sports Properties. "With this kind of support, we can continue creating meaningful experiences and opportunities for students both inside and outside of competition."
The partnership with Breezeline, a regional leader in internet, TV, and voice services, will support the growth of the club by providing resources that will go towards funding events, competitions, and enhanced opportunities for student engagement.
"Breezeline is proud to expand our partnership with UNH Athletics by sponsoring the UNH E-Sports team," said Brittany Skura, Community Engagement Manager at Breezeline. As a leading internet provider, we understand the critical role technology plays in connecting communities and fostering digital literacy. This collaboration lets us support students as they develop valuable abilities through competitive gaming, and it provides resources that will genuinely enrich their university experience. It's all part of our commitment to innovation and strengthening communities"
"E-Sports is one of the fastest growing forms of entertainment in the world, with UNH students already playing and following competitive games," said Jonathan James, UNH E-Sports President. "Our club provides a formal place to bring that energy together."
"Members can play casually, scrimmage with peers, or even compete in tournaments between schools. Everyone can engage at the level they're comfortable with," added Logan Pelletier, UNH E-Sports Vice President.
With Breezeline's support, UNH E-Sports will continue to provide a platform for both competitive and casual gamers, enriching the university experience for hundreds of students while connecting the community through one of today's fastest-growing activities.
