Service Credit Union Student-Athletes of the Week: Nicole Poulakis and Nick Reed

DURHAM, N.H. – Senior Nicole Poulakis (Ajax, Ontario) of the UNH field hockey team and sophomore Nick Reed (Harrison, N.Y.) of the UNH football team were named the Service Credit Union Student-Athletes of the Week on Oct.20.

Nicole posted an impressive week recording six goals for a total of 12 points in two games. She was dominant against UMass Lowell last Friday with a career high of four goals, amounting to
eight total points as the Wildcats won 7-0. She also had a strong performance against Boston College, recording two goals.

She is the first 'Cat to score four goals in a game since Sept. 21, 2014 (Meg Flatley vs. Hofstra). She also extended her goal streak to four games and a point streak to 10 with this past Sunday's pair of goals at BC. She has 16 goals and seven assists for 39 points during the streak.

UNH's next game is Oct. 24 (2pm) at UAlbany. The Wildcats' final home game is set for 3pm on Oct. 30 at Memorial Field.

Nick booted three field goals to account for all of New Hampshire's points through the first three quarters of a 24-10 road win at Campbell. He made kicks of 36, 50 and 37 yards and added an extra point. Reed is 16 of 21 on field goals this season, including 4-for-5 from 50+ yards.

With his impressive performance, he was named the CAA Football Special Teams Player of the Week on Monday. This is his second CAA Football Special Teams Player of the Week award this season. He was previously honored Sept. 8

New Hampshire returns to action Oct. 25 (1pm) at home when they take on William & Mary during Family Weekend.
