Service Credit Union Student-Athletes of the Week: Abbi Maier and Morgan Winters

DURHAM, N.H. – Senior Abbi Maier (Cincinnati, Ohio) of the UNH women's soccer team and senior Morgan Winters (Osprey, Fla.) of the UNH men's hockey team were named the Service Credit Union Student-Athletes of the Week on Oct.15.

Abbi posted one goal and one assist for three points as the Wildcats won at UAlbany, 3-1, on Oct. 12. She recorded an assist on the first goal of the game, then in the 79th minute Maier rocketed a shot from 35 yards out to the upper 90 for the spectacular goal to give the 'Cats a 3-1 advantage. Maier is tied for the team lead with four goals and has one assist for nine points.

Abbi was named the America East Offensive Player of the Week in recognition of her performance vs UAlbany.

The Wildcats return to action at Bryant on Thursday, Oct. 16 at 7pm. UNHs next home game will be held Sunday, Oct. 19 at 2pm

Morgan posted two goals and one assist for three points on Oct. 9 in the 4-3 win at No. 2 Michigan State. He tied the game at 1-1 with a power-play goal at 14:02 in the first period. He gave the 'Cats a 2-1 lead just 24 seconds after the opening faceoff of the second period.

Morgan was named Hockey East Player of the Week in recognition of his three-point effort vs Michigan State

The Wildcats start their Hockey East schedule at Merrimack on Saturday, Oct. 18 at 6pm. The home season begins versus LIU (Friday, Oct. 24) and No. 10 Quinnipiac (Saturday, Oct. 25). Both games start at 7pm
