Ella Guilfoil Named America East Women’s Swimming & Diving Scholar Athlete of the Year

Guilfoil was the Swimmer of the Meet at the America East Championships
BOSTON – Sophomore Ella Guilfoil (Fairport, N.Y.) was named the 2023-24 America East Women's Swimming and Diving Scholar Athlete of the Year. This is the fifth straight season a member of the UNH swimming and diving team has won this honor.
Guilfoil was the 2024 Swimmer of the Meet at the America East Championships as she won a gold medal in the 200 backstroke, 200 individual medley and 400 IM and was also part of the winning 400 free relay that broke the conference record. Guilfoil was also a three-time America East Women's Swimmer of the Week. She was named to the America East All-Academic Team with a 3.79 GPA as a bioengineering major.
This is a conference-best 12th time a Wildcat has been named the America East Women's Swimming and Diving Scholar Athlete of the Year. The previous UNH winners are Denise Leckenby (1996 & 1998), Kristin Latourelle (1999), Lauren McCandless (2012 & 2014), Katie Mann (2013 & 2015), Anna Metzler (2020, 2021 & 2022) and Madison Linstedt (2023).
The UNH swimming and diving team had a 6-1 record that included 2-0 in America East and finished as runner-up at the 2024 America East Championships.
