‘Cats Fall to Vermont 68-64

DURHAM, N.H. – The University of New Hampshire men's basketball team fell to Vermont 68-64 on Tuesday evening in the last regular season home game from Lundholm Gym.
Senior forward Clarence Daniels (Brooklyn Park, Minn.) scored 23 points and collected 11 rebounds for his team leading 12th double double of the season. Junior guard Ahmad Robinson (West Orange, N.J.) scored 26 points for the Wildcats in the contest, the game high. Robinson shot 67% from the field, 60% from beyond the arc and 75% from the charity stripe.
The Wildcats' record falls to 15-14 (7-9 AE) and Vermont's improves to 25-6 (15-1 AE).

FIRST HALF:
- Vermont opened the scoring with an early three-pointer. The Wildcats responded with their own from grad student guard Naim Miller (Pittsburgh, PA) tying the game.
- The game was scoreless for 3:49 and Vermont held UNH from scoring for 6:24.
- Vermont's Aaron Deloney was fouled beyond the arc and made two of the three free throws, giving the Catamounts a 10-point lead, 23-13, with 3:38 left.
- The Catamounts again held the Wildcats from scoring for 4:05. The drought was broken by junior forward Trey Woodyard (London, Ohio) from the corner.
- The half ended with Vermont up by one, 25-24.
SECOND HALF:
- The first minute of the half saw two points from Vermont and five from the Wildcats, giving UNH their first lead of the game since 12:51 in the first half, 29-27.
- Vermont went on a 13-4 run over 5:36 to take a 40-33 lead with 12:36 to go.
- Four points apiece from Daniels and Robinson tied the game 41-41 with just over 10 minutes left in the half.
- Vermont took the lead and held it for the remainder of the game, closing out the game with a 68-64 victory.
