Service Credit Union Student-Athletes of the Week: Sarah Moore and Yoofi Abaka-Amuah

DURHAM, N.H. -- Freshman jumper Sarah Moore (Lisbon, Maine) of the University of New Hampshire's women's track and field team and junior thrower Yoofi Abaka-Amuah (Worcester, Mass.) of the UNH men's track and field team were named the Service Credit Union Student-Athletes of the Week on Dec. 9.

In Sarah's collegiate debut this past Saturday (Dec. 7), she broke the school record in the long jump with a standard of 19 feet, 1.25 inches on the last of her six jumps. That score earned Sarah a second-place finish and added eight points on the board for the Wildcats. She also finished fifth in the 60-meter dash, giving UNH another four points. Sarah's scores helped the Wildcats to a third-place finish in the season opener at the Alden Invitational at Brown University's Olney-Margolies Athletic Center.

The UNH women's track and field team returns to action Friday, Jan.17, and Saturday, Jan. 18 in the Bates Invitational at Merrill Gymnasium.

Yoofi recorded a first-place finish in both the shot put and weight throw tallying a total of 20 points to help lead UNH to a third-place finish this Saturday at the Alden Invitational. He recorded 55 feet, 10.25 inches on the fifth of his six attempts in the shot put throw and 64-5.5 on his second of six attempts in the weight throw.

The UNH men's track and field team returns to action on Friday, Jan.17, and Saturday, Jan. 18 in the Bates Invitational at Merrill Gymnasium.
