DURHAM, N.H. – The University of New Hampshire women's basketball team secured a 69-60 victory over Boston University in a tightly contested matchup on Saturday evening at Lundholm Gymnasium.
Sophomore Eva DeChent (Westchester, NY) dominated on the court, delivering a career-high 34 points on 9-for-18 shooting, highlighted by 4-for-9 from beyond the arc and a stellar 12-for-13 at the free throw line. Fellow sophomore Maggie Cavanaugh (Point Pleasant Beach, NJ) added 13 points, four rebounds, and four assists.

- UNH starts a two-game road trip with a matchup against Boston College on Nov. 20 at 6 p.m. at the Conte Forum in Chestnut Hill, Mass.

- The Wildcats came out firing, with senior Clara Gomez (Barcelona, Spain), graduate student Sydney Lusher (Oneida, N.Y.), DeChent, and Cavanaugh each hitting 3-pointers to build an early 12-4 lead.
- With 2:20 on the clock, Cavanaugh nailed her second 3-pointer of the game to stretch the lead to 15-6. She capped the quarter with her third triple, marking five 3-pointers for the Wildcats in the opening frame.
- UNH finished the quarter ahead, 18-12.

- DeChent carried the momentum into the second, hitting back-to-back 3-pointers to push the lead to 23-15 with 7:12 remaining.
- Following a media timeout at 4:25, with the score at 25-15, Lusher sank another 3-pointer to keep the offense rolling. Moments later, DeChent rebounded a missed BU 3-pointer and converted a layup on the other end.
- Despite a late push from the Terriers, UNH held firm, closing the half with a commanding 36-19 lead.

- Boston University started the second half strong, opening on a 7-0 run to cut the deficit. DeChent finally broke through for the Wildcats with a layup, bringing the score to 38-26.
- The Terriers continued to chip away, going on another scoring streak to close within three points at 38-35. DeChent ended BU's run with a layup to make it 41-37.
- Lusher provided a critical defensive spark with a steal, drawing a foul and sinking both free throws to maintain UNH's lead at 43-41 heading into the final frame.

- DeChent opened the fourth quarter with another 3-pointer. She drew consecutive fouls, converting four free throws in a row to extend the Wildcats' lead to 51-45.
- The Terriers fought back with a 6-0 run to tie the game 51-51. However, a BU traveling violation led to another 3-pointer from DeChent, putting UNH back up 56-53.
- In the final minutes, DeChent delivered a crucial layup while drawing a foul, completing the three-point play to push the lead to 62-55 with 1:15 remaining. BU forced a foul with 45 seconds left, but DeChent sealed the victory by hitting both free throws.
- The Wildcats secured the 69-60 win.

- DeChent set a new career high and recorded her fifth straight double-digit scoring game.
- This marks the first time since 2019 that a Wildcat scored 30+ points. Ashley Storey scored 33 against Central Connecticut State on 12/08/19.
- At 4-1 the 'Cats are off to their best start through five games since the 2015-16 season.
- Cavanaugh's 13 points mark a season high, while her four 3-pointers ties her career high.
- Lusher scored a season-high eight points.
- Gomez tied her season high with 12 rebounds. She also added five points, five assists, two steals and a blocked shot.

- UNH shot .370 (20-for-54) from the field and an impressive .458 (11-for-24) from downtown, while BU shot .391 (18-for-46) from the field and .333 (6-for-18) from three.
