Wildcats Drop Road Game to Bearcats, 73-63

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. – The University of New Hampshire women's basketball team fell to the Bearcats on Thursday.
Senior guard Bella Stuart (Clifton Park, N.Y.) scored a season-high 14 points in the game.

FIRST QUARTER:
- The Game started off with a quick three-pointer by Ella Wanzer of Binghamton. This would be a sign of things to come in regard to the Bearcats shooting.
- UNH responded quickly with a basket of their own scored by junior guard Clara Gomez (Barcelona Spain).
- The Bearcats then went on an 11-0 run leading the Wildcats 18-4.
- Sophomore Guard Breezie Williams (Canton, Ohio) ended the Bearcat's run with a three-pointer.
- The Wildcats began to battle back at the end of the quarter, scoring three unanswered baskets bringing the Bearcat's lead to single digits going into the second.
- The Wildcats scored two baskets to start the second quarter off from Aina Roque Sucarrats (Cervera, Spain) and Williams respectively. The Wildcats were now on a 10-0 run.
- As the quarter went on the Bearcats began to pull away once again, entering halftime with a 16-point lead.
- The Bearcats continued to control the game scoring three-pointers at a high clip.
- Williams ended a 7-0 run from the Bearcats with a fastbreak layup.
- The Bearcats continued to shoot from beyond the arc extending their lead to the highest of the game with 22 points.
- Neither team was able to score for the first five minutes of the game.
- Senior center Paige Cote (Sanford, Maine) ended the drought, scoring in the paint with 5:22 remaining in the quarter.
- The Wildcats didn't let off the gas for the remainder of the game, slowly battling their way back.
- Sophomore guard Avery O'Connor (Dedham, Mass.) went to the line with 1:33 remaining in the quarter. She made the first and missed the second getting her own rebound which led to another Wildcat basket scored by Cote.
- UNH battled to within 10 of the Bearcats but were unable to close the gap fully.
- UNH led Binghamton in second-chance points 16-8.
- The Wildcats also led in fast break points 8-4.
- UNH outscored the Bearcats in the paint 38-22.
