SECOND QUARTER:
- The Wildcats began to hit their stride in the second quarter clamping down on defense making it difficult for the Great Danes to continue to score like they were in the first.
- Junior guard Clara Gomez (Sabadell, Spain) kicked off the Wildcat's offense with a steal leading to a quick coast-to-coast basket.
- UNH continued to cut into the Great Dane's lead by drawing fouls and scoring in the paint.
THIRD QUARTER:
- UNH continued to ramp up the intensity as the second half began.
- The Wildcat's full-court press and defense were able to disrupt the Great Dane's offense and create turnovers which the 'Cats were able to capitalize on.
- With just over a minute remaining in the third, Breezie Williams (Canton, Ohio) scored a huge three-pointer bringing the Great Dane's lead down to just five points. This was the closest the score had been since the first quarter.
- UNH held the momentum going into the final quarter.
- Both teams were trading baskets, but the Wildcats continued to keep the score close.
- As the quarter continued the 'Cats began to struggle shooting. That combined with some fouls saw UAlbany extend their lead back to 12 with just over five minutes remaining in the quarter.
- The 'Cats refused to let their foot off the gas. Multiple defensive stops and a massive three-pointer from Stuart saw the Great Dane's lead fall to just four points with just over a minute left.
- Despite the Wildcat's best efforts, the Great Danes pulled away with the win.
