STORRS, Conn. – Ryan Tverberg scored two goals for the Huskies as the University of New Hampshire's men's hockey team fell to No. 16 UConn, 6-1, on Saturday afternoon at the Toscano Family Ice Forum.
The Wildcats fall to 11-19-3 (6-14-3 Hockey East), while the Huskies improve to 19-10-3 (12-8-2 Hockey East).

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- UConn took an early 1-0 lead when Ryan Tverberg sent a wrist shot from the left faceoff circle stick side 38 seconds after the opening puck drop.
- At 15:39, Tverberg netted his second goal of the contest when he scored on a breakaway to increase the lead to 2-0.
- With just eight seconds remaining in the first period, Tristan Fraser blasted a one timer from the slot to the upper stick side of the net to give the Huskies a 3-0 advantage.
- At 2:59 of the third period and with the Wildcats on the power play, sophomore forward Liam Devlin (Needham, Mass.) sent the puck from behind the goal as it deflected to the back of the net off UConn goalie Arsenii Sergeev. Senior captain Chase Stevenson (West Kelowna, British Columbia) and sophomore defenseman Colton Huard (Foothill Ranch, Calif.) each posted an assist on the goal.
- But the Huskies responded at 7:45 when Jake Flynn wristed a shot through track to the lower stick side of the net as UConn led 4-1.
- At 14:56, Samu Salminen made it a 5-1 lead with a goal stick side from the right faceoff circle.
- Jake Veilleux netted the last goal of the game at 16:50 for the 6-1 final.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Senior goalie David Fessenden (Parker, Colo.) posted 27 saves, while Sergeev had 29 saves.
- UConn outshot UNH, 33-30.
- The Wildcats went 1-5 on the power play and the Huskies went 0-3.
