Freshmen Maggie Cavanaugh and Sharmela Reid score their first UNH career points.
DURHAM, N.H. – Freshman Maggie Cavanaugh (Point Pleasant Beach, N.J.) and freshman Sharmela Reid (Montreal, Quebec) scored their first UNH career points in University of New Hampshire's 73-39 victory against the University of New England on Monday night.
The Wildcats' record improves to 1-0-0 (0-0-0 AE) and UNE falls to 0-0-1 (0-0-0 CCC).

FIRST QUARTER: - Junior guard Clara Gomez (Sabadell, Spain) scored the first point of the game and UNH led the rest of the quarter.
- Senior Belen Morales Lopez (Bellreguard, Spain) took the first free throw, putting the cats up 9-4 at the seven minute mark.
- Gomez made the first three-point shot of the game, as the 'Cats remained in the lead.
- With 52 seconds left, freshman forward Sharmela Reid (Montreal, Quebec) scored her first UNH career point with a foul shot, bringing the 'Cats to a 25-10 lead.
- Junior guard Kenzie Matulonis (Raynham, Mass) led the quarter with six points.
- The 'Cats ended the quarter with a 27-10 lead.
- With seven minutes left in the half, senior center Paige Cote (Sanford, Maine) scored the first point of the quarter for the 'Cats, extending the UNH lead 29-12.
- Sophomore guard Avery O'Connor (Dedham, Mass) scored a three-point shot at the five minute mark, bringing the lead up 32-15.
- O'Connor scored her second three-point shot with 48 seconds left in the half, extending the UNH lead 39-22.
- The quarter ended with UNH still in the lead, 39-22.
- At the beginning of the quarter, Lopez scored the 'Cats first point of the quarter, continuing the lead 41-22.
- Matulonis made two foul shots, with 7:44 left in the quarter, as the 'Cats still hold the lead 45-24.
- Freshman guard Maggie Cavanaugh (Point Pleasant Beach, N.J.) got her first UNH career points with a three-pointer with 4:46 left in the quarter, extending the lead 49-26.

- In the run, O'Connor scored six out of the eight points helping the 'Cats get to a 64-33 lead before UNE scored.
- With two minutes left, sophomore guard Aina Roque Sucarrats (Cervera, Spain) scored a three-pointer, continuing the 'Cats lead 67-36.
- Cavanaugh scored the final point of the game with a layup, leading the 'Cats to a win (73-39).

- UNH finished with the lead in both field goal percentage (39.1% to 30.2%) and three-point field goal percentage (33.3% to 21.4%).
