Young died at age 22 on January 24, 2008 after a courageous three-year battle with Ewing's Sarcoma, a rare form of bone cancer. Young, a Dennisport, Mass. native, was diagnosed in 2004 just after her redshirt freshman season. She missed all of the 2005 season, while in treatments, but rejoined her teammates on the sidelines in 2006.
The Wildcats return to action on Saturday, August 27 for a 1 p.m. match against Saint Peter's and a 6 p.m. tilt against Hartford from Lundholm Gymnasium. Both matches will be streamed live on ESPN+.
