"This is a major announcement that will grow the Hockey East brand and broaden the reach of the Wildcat hockey program to a larger audience than ever before," UNH men's hockey head coach Mike Souza said. "Every team in the league will benefit from the strength and profile of an ESPN streaming relationship while extending the traditional NESN partnership that is so valuable to our fans, alumni and future Wildcats."
The ESPN deal features four games annually on ESPN linear channels, which includes the Hockey East Women's Championship game.
"It means a great deal to be able to say ESPN+ is the new streaming home for UNH women's hockey," Wildcat women's hockey head coach Hilary Witt said. "From a recruiting standpoint and a fan perspective, that consistency is pivotal to growing awareness of our program. Plus, putting the Hockey East championship on ESPN is a game-changer for our sport and our conference."
There will be no ESPN+ blackouts for any game on NESN.
