DURHAM, N.H. -- The University of New Hampshire football team visited and read books to all six first grade classes at Idlehurst Elementary School last Friday morning in Somersworth as part of #WildcatsCare presented by Kennebunk Savings.
Select Wildcat players and coaches including associate head coach Garrett Gillick and assistant coach Casey DeAndrade, along with players Broox Bolden, Jonathan Collins, Nathan Kapongo, Oleh Manzyk, Caleb Mead, Will O'Leary, Max Oxendine, Brandon Perkins and Ryan Toscano.

"We as the leadership team believe it's important that we get out in the community and give back to the people that help support us in as many ways as possible," said UNH head coach Rick Santos. "It was a great day for our players, the coaches and more importantly the children. We also can't forget the teachers of Idlehurst that work tirelessly developing the young girls and boys of our communities that we live in. They're the real heroes and we just wanted to give a little back and say thank you."

"Having the opportunity to visit Idlehurst and meeting some great local kids was an awesome experience," mentioned Toscano. "It really puts into perspective how far we have come as student-athletes and the great communities that we all grew up in. I remember when I was in elementary school our local high school football team came in and read to our class and I absolutely loved it. It helped me set a goal for myself that I wanted to be like them one day, and lucky I got a chance last week to do the exact same thing with my teammates. It feels great to give back to the community and help put a smile and young kids' faces."
