Wildcats Take Out AE Leader UMBC, 3-1 on Sunday in Conference Play

CATONSVILLE, Md. -- Junior outside hitter Hannah Serbousek (Fort Collins, Colo.) notched a match-high 16 kills with 14 digs for the University of New Hampshire volleyball team in the 3-1 victory at UMBC on Sunday afternoon in America East play from Chesapeake Employers Insurance Arena. The set scores were 15-25, 25-17, 27-25 and 25-17.
The Wildcats improve to 16-9 overall on the season with a 4-4 mark in America East play, while the Retrievers fall to 14-7 overall (6-2 AE).
"We are extremely proud of our group," said UNH head coach Christopher Feliciano. "We are seeing results of the team focusing on dynamic relationships and paying attention to our game plan."
Freshman outside hitter Lindsey Kriendler (Houston, Texas) added nine kills and six digs, while sophomore right side hitter Marisa Armer (Bradenton, Fla.) added eight kills.
Junior libero Mia Pagliarini (Springboro, Ohio) registered a match-high 21 digs in a strong defensive effort, while freshman defensive specialist Avery LePore (Franklin, Tenn.) added 13 digs in UNH's 15th win of the season. Pagliarini and Serbousek were both a perfect 12-for-12 on serve receive for the 'Cats.
UNH hit .314 as a team with 13 kills in their second set win and followed that up with 13 kills and a .278 hitting percentage in the final frame.
The Wildcats return to action on Friday, November 11 at UAlbany. Game time from University Gym is 7 p.m.
