Wildcats Improve to 4-0 with Wins Over Merrimack & Siena

UNH had the top finisher in 14 of 16 events.
DURHAM, N.H. – The Wildcats had the top finisher in 14 of the 16 events as the University of New Hampshire swimming and diving team defeated Merrimack, 198-76, and Siena, 182-103, on Saturday at Swasey Pool. Siena earned the win over Merrimack, 216-67.
With two wins, the Wildcats move to 4-0 overall. Siena is now 4-2, while Merrimack falls to 2-4.

RESULTS
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Junior Abby McKinney (Westfield, N.J.), senior captain Jamy Lum (Honolulu, Hawaii) and junior Hannah Devine (Hamilton, N.J.) each posted the best time in two events. McKinney won the 100 freestyle (53.52) and had the top time in the 100 butterfly (56.89). Lum posted a win in the 100 breaststroke (1:06.81) and in the 200 breaststroke (2:25.95). Devine took first in the 500 freestyle (5:08.56) and 1000 freestyle (10:34.00).
- Graduate student Shelby Kasse (Hoofddorp, Netherlands) captured the 100 backstroke (57.18) to remain undefeated in the event this season, while freshman Caitlin Mason (Charleston, S.C.) won the 200 backstroke (2:07.52).
- Freshman Audrey Mahoney (Downers Grove, Ill.) is also undefeated in the 50 freestyle as she placed first today with a time of 24.20, while sophomore Megumi Komoto (Schaumburg, Ill.) won the 200 butterfly at 2:07.33.
- Freshman Sophia Routzahn (Frederick, Md.) recorded the top time in the 200 IM with a 2:08.20 which is currently the best time in the conference.
- Sophomore Ana O'Neil (St. Paul, Minn.) won the three-meter diving event (210.30).
- The Wildcats also took both relays. The 400 medley relay team of Kasse, Routzahn, Komoto and sophomore Chiara Maria Pradissitto (Milan, Italy) won with a time of 3:53.46, while the 200 freestyle relay team of Mahoney, senior Olivia Stille (Stockholm, Sweden), McKinney and Pradissitto recorded the best time at 1:38.50.
