BURLINGTON, Vt. – Andrei Buyalsky scored the overtime winner for the Catamounts as the University of New Hampshire men's hockey team fell to Vermont, 2-1 in overtime, on Friday evening at Gutterson Fieldhouse in Hockey East action. The Wildcats earn a point in the Hockey East standings, while the Catamounts take two.
The Wildcats fall to 3-7-1 (0-7-1 Hockey East), while the Catamounts improve to 3-6-1 (1-6-0 Hockey East).

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- At 4:34 of the first period, the Wildcats took an early 1-0 lead when junior defenseman Luke Reid (Warman, Saskatchewan) sent a pass to freshman forward Morgan Winters (Osprey, Fla.) who skated with the puck from UNH's blue line all the way to the faceoff circle. He then sent a shot glove side for the power play goal. Senior goaltender David Fessenden (Parker, Colo.) also posted an assist on the goal.
- Just 24 seconds later, the Catamounts tied the game on a goal by Will Zapernick.
- With just 60 seconds left in overtime, Buyalsky netted the game winner to give UVM the two conference points.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Fessenden recorded 30 saves, while Gabe Carriere tallied 21 saves to earn the win.
- UVM outshot UNH, 32-22.
- The Wildcats went 1-3 on the power play, while the Catamounts went 0-4.
