DURHAM, N.H. – The University of Hew Hampshire women's hockey team fell to No. 13 Providence College, 4-1, on Friday at the Whittemore Center.
Sophomore Kira Juodikis (LaSalle, Ontario) scored the only goal for the Wildcats during a power play, assisted by Emily Pinto (Mulmer Ontario). Pinto shot from the left point, which rebounded off the goalie and Juodikis tapped the puck in.
Senior Nicky Harnett (Plymouth, Minn.) made 27 saves and allowed three goals before exiting the game at 17:51. PC scored an empty-net goal and she was brought back in at 18:51.
PC goalie Sandra Abstreiter was credited with 17 saves. Ashley Clark led the offense with two assists.
UNH is now 2-6-0 overall and 2-4-0 in Hockey East, while Providence improves to 6-1-0, 3-0-0.

FIRST PERIOD
- Providence scored the first goal of the game at 11:54 by Hunter Barnett assisted by Clark.
- The Friars had a 10-6 shot advantage and led in faceoff wins 10-4.
SECOND PERIOD
- Providence increased the lead to 2-0 when Naomi Neubauerova scored with assists from Sara Hjalmarsson and Lindsey Bochna at 10:45.
- The Friars quickly scored on a power play at 12:02 by Reichen Kirchmair, assisted by Ida Press and Lily Hendrikson.
- PC had a 13-4 shot advantage in the middle frame.
THIRD PERIOD
- The Wildcats picked up their first goal when Juodikis fired a shot at 6:37 with an assist from Pinto.
- PC improved their lead 4-1 at 18:51 when Kayla Kutes scored on an empty net.
GAME NOTEBOOK
- Providence ended with a 31-18 shot advantage.
- PC had a 25-23 edge in the faceoff circle.
- The Wildcats recorded 11 block shots and the Friars were credited with four.
- UNH went 1-for-2 on power plays, while PC was 1-for-3.

- Juodikis scored has now scored a goal in back to back games and is tied for the team lead with three goals.
- Pinto has now made an assist in back to back games and she leads the team in both assists (five) and points (six).
- Junior Chavonne Truter (Uxbridge, Ontario) led all skaters in shots with three.
- Graduate student Gabby Jones (Westfield, Mass.) recorded the most faceoff wins for the Wildcats with nine.
- Senior Rae Breton (Brighton, Ontario) led all skaters with four blocks.
