Wildcats Victorious at Stonehill on Wednesday, 3-1

Meredith Hohnbaum notched a team-high 10 kills for UNH in the victory
NORTH EASTON, Mass. -- The University of New Hampshire volleyball team earned a 3-1 victory at Stonehill on Wednesday night in non-conference play from Merkert Gymnasium. The set scores were 13-25, 25-21, 25-20 and 25-16.
UNH improves to 14-8 overall on the season with the win, while the Skyhawks fall to 1-21 overall.
Freshman right side Meredith Hohnbaum (Indianapolis, Ind.) totaled a team-high 10 kills with a .200 hitting percentage and three total blocks in the victory for the Wildcats.
Freshman middle blocker Kara Oxenknecht (Naperville, Ill.) registered nine kills, hit at a .200 clip, while adding seven total blocks. Junior middle blocker Kelly Kaufmann (Raleigh, N.C.) and freshman outside hitter Lindsey Kriendler (Houston, Texas) each added seven kills apiece. Kaufmann added an impressive .875 hitting percentage on the evening in the win.
Junior libero Mia Pagliarini (Springboro, Ohio) added 19 digs in another strong defensive outing.
UNH totaled a match-high 16 kills and a .412 team hitting percentage in the fourth and final stanza. They posted 11 kills in the second and third frames with a .370 and .333 hitting percentage, respectively.
Emma Graves and Mia Berardino each totaled 12 kills apiece in the losing effort for Stonehill.
The Wildcats return to action on Sunday, October 23 against UMBC. Match time from Lundholm Gymnasium is 1 p.m. on AmericaEast.tv.
